Prairie State Vineyard is located behind our farm house in rural Kingston. It is comprised of 3.5 acres of cold hardy wine grapes such as Marechal Foch, St. Pepin, Lacrosse, and Niagara. These organically grown grapes go into just a few of our wines. We rely heavily on grapes grown in other vineyards around the state. Many of the varieties we enjoy working with do better in the milder central and southern regions of Illinois.
We get most of our grapes from Two Oaks Vineyard in Benton, Lasata Vineyard in Lawrenceville, and Sunny Hill Vineyard in Pittsfield. We have wonderful, long term relationships with these growers, some of the best in Illinois. The fruit they produce is the reason we win so many awards with our wines.
